Sub-associations

Sub-associations are groups of committed students who work on various activities to promote student life on campus and the college itself. They are organizations that work to ensure that you have a richer study time! All students are welcome to take part in the associations’ activities and events. There is something for everyone! So take the opportunity to join in the fun or join a board to help create a vibrant and active college!

SMS

SMS is the Student Union’s music association, where you can play in various bands and collect, produce music or sing in a choir with fellow students!

Ensemble: For you as a musician or singer who wants to play and make music with others!
We host ensemble meetups where you can meet other people who might just be looking for someone like you! As a group or an ensemble you’ll be able to book the university’s instrument room if you want to play or rehearse for an event, such as a gigs or open mics. Who knows, maybe you’ll find your next bandmate, singer or even best friend?

Production: For you who makes music or want to learn how to make music on your computer! Can you manage to make a song under 1 hour that follows our promts? Develop as music maker, and get to listen to how others tackle the same musical challenge!

Choir: For you who wants to make use of your vocal cords more together with other singers! Everything from arranged pop tunes to traditional choir singing has been sung in the SMS choir. We hope to eventually be able to perform at masses, sittnings or other events. If you’ve ever been curious to try on singing in a group, now’s your chance!

Doktorandrådet

The PhD Student Council (Doktorandrådet) is made up of (and made for!) PhD students enrolled at the University of Skövde. Its purpose is to improve the working environment and serve as a network for PhD students to meet, learn, and have fun across the borders of the different schools/institutions/departments. The council also provides a channel for PhD students to affect the decisions on higher levels of the organization, and serves as a conduit for communication to other areas of the university.

Are you a PhD student at the university? Consider joining the PhD Student Council to make your voice heard and meet other researchers like yourself!
